Okun and Kantrowitz suggest many questions that can be asked to engage the crisis survivor to participate developing adaptive strategies. With the help of those questions, one can know about the emotional and behavioral reactions of the crisis survivor.Examples of two questions suggested by Okun are the following-

1- What changes have occured in your life recently, particularly in the past few days?

2- Do you have any difficulty with the people who are important to you like a family member, boss, valued friend?

These type of questions help the crisis survivor to share their feelings without any restriction. The helper is able to understand their feelings and emotions, their situation. This help the crisis survivors to feel empowered and strong to face the difficulties of life. Now a days many organisations are helping people to cope up with the crisis they have suffered from. Its mandatory to show sympathy and care to the crisis or disaster survivor to make him feel comfortable and confident. Proper help and care like food, clothes, medication,shelter etc shoulsd be managed for them. Disaster victims generally are not able to get these facilities themselves and need help. So any crisis victim can be participated in developing adaptive strategies only when he is supported and cared by helpers.
