This PowerPoint/video presentation will be on applying knowledge of health psychology learned from this course. It must be a minimum of 20 slides in length and use a minimum of 10 scholarly sources (the book chapters can be used, but make sure at least 8 are outside references). The focus of the presentation will be a biopsychosocial review of one of the following topics:
Diabetes
Sleep Disorders
Obesity
Cancer
Cardiac Issues
Smoking
First, you will create a PowerPoint (or equivalent) of your presentation. Second, you will use Screencast-o-Matic (or a similar program) to create a video recording of your screen and voice as your present the information. Third, you will upload the video presentation to YouTube so your instructor can view it. You will submit both the PowerPoint (or equivalent) file and the link to the YouTube presentation to complete this assignment.
Guidelines:
The review should cover the etiology (causes) of the disorder and again should be from a biopsychosocial perspective (e.g., what are the biological, psychological and social factors that contribute to the development and maintenance of the problem?).
You can choose to include a few slides on treatment if you wish.
You should have at least 1-2 slides of introductory material.
The presentation must include both audio (your voice explaining the information) and visual (PowerPoint presentation including text and/or images). Videos should not be used within the presentation.
The presentation must be 15 minutes long (no more than 20).
The focus will be on the written content of each slide but feel free to add pictures and other content as well. However, make sure that the written content is substantial and primary.
APA style citations should be used within the presentation. A reference section (in APA style) should appear at the end of the presentation.

Disorder chosen : ADHD
Biological : The neurological structure alterations are one of the causes of of ADHD. The etiological studies of these children has shown that ADHD maybe caused due to some sort of trauma or illness or injury. Many researchers have claimed that ADHD results from severe brain damage. These maybe be bleeding at the time of pregnancy or anoxia resulting in ADHD. The damage may be in the prefrontal cortex following neurological dysfunction. There may also be damage in the cortical as well as sub cortical areas. Results have shown that the blood flow in the ADHD affected children is severely reduced in the areas around the centrql white matter.
Psychological: Psychological perspectives include impairment of executive functioning. There are lower processing speeds as well as lower spatial as well as verbal working memory. They have a lower emotional quotient with inability to respond to those processes. That is because the part of brain that processes emotions is smaller than the average people.
Sociological: Children who are suffering from ADHD, are not able to carry out social interactions. They may be at high risks for depression, criminality, increased dropouts from school as well as greater risk of addiction. Stigmatisation is always accompanied with any of the mental disorders.
