Question
why is C correct? why does social change cause suicide rates to increase?
Explanation / Answer
Ans C) Suicide is the dependent variable . Social changes lead to the suicide rates going high .
Emile Durkheim described the behavior of an organism governed by the changes occuring in the social environment. The suicide , an attempt ot kill oneself , was the result of person getting frustated by the social changes. If the person is sad , only then he will commit suicide and not when he happy . So this happiness and sadness is largely determined by what is occuring in one's surrounding .Hence suicide becomes the dependent variable.
