Explanation / Answer

The study aimed to identify how well babies reacted to after listening to the same music they were exposed to during the prenatal period. For identifying the reactions, a pre-post experimental study was conducted on new born babies who were exposed to listen to lullaby before they took birth. The results revealed that there were significant changes in EEG and brain firings of new born babies after they were made to listen to the lullaby which they frequently heard while they were in womb. For this study a control of new born babies was also there. The results also revealed that the newborn babies of the control did not show much neural activity when they heard a lullaby. In comparison babies of the experimental conditions showed significant neural responses which were note specific when they listened to the familiar lullaby. The findings suggest that because the ear and auditory system of the fetus is fully developed in the third trimester, they listen and register the sounds which surround them. The new born babies do not necessarily have the memory but it may be said that they are familiar with such sounds and stop wailing if they are exposed to the same. The study aimed to identify how well babies reacted to after listening to the same music they were exposed to during the prenatal period.
