Determine which fallacy best fits the following argument by giving an explanation for why you think that fallacy is being committed.

My wife says that we should have Home Depot deliver and install our new washer and dryer, but I think that she is mistaken about this. If we have Home Depot deliver and install the washer and dryer we will have to pay a lot of money in extra fees on top of the cost of the washer and dryer. Furthermore, we are not doing anything on Saturday so we have the time to pick up the washer and dryer ourselves. Clearly picking it up ourselves is the best option.

Question: Determine which fallacy best fits the following argument by giving an explanation for why you think that fallacy is being committed.

Answer: The fallacy that is committed is ‘Begging the Question’ in which an arguer asks the audience to simply accept the conclusion simply ignoring an important assumption upon which the argument rests. Here the wife is ignoring the fact (rule) that one has to pay extra for delivery and installation of washer and dryer and moreover they (couple) can do it themselves since they have got time on the weekend.
