Explanation / Answer
3 characteristics of organizational justice are:
Distributive justice is the employees' concern regarding the fairness of outcomes that they receive. This is seen when the raise in salary is inappropriate; the employee feels cheated.
Procedural justice is the concern of the employees pertaining to the fairness of the process leading to the outcomes decided. In the case of no advance notice for overtime, the employee may feel bad due to lack of procedural justice.
Interactional justice; is the concern of the employees regarding the communication of the explanation of any action taken. For example in the first case, i.e. the case of inadequate raise in salary; how the issue was communicated may be an example of Interactional justice denial.
Collective bargaining hinders organizational justice as the negotiations may be highly fragmented.
Organizational justice is necessary for organizational socialization to occur as only if the employees get a fair treatment; they will have faith in the system and then they will communicate, both vertically and horizontally in an organization.
Employee motivation is increased by organizational justice as justice builds faith and leads to communication hence the growth of the organization.
