*Using the schematic just below, describe each stage of the process of vision, starting with a visual stimulus that is captured by receptor cells in the retina – the rods and cones – to its destination in the brain. Explain what the receptor cells do, what the optic nerve does, and what happens in the primary area of the occipital cortex

Stimulus-> Receptors (Rods & Cones) -> Sensory neurons (Optic nerve ) -> Brain (Primary occipital area: Feature detectors)

stage in the process of vision:

The vision system is part of central nervous system.there is several stages of processing vision which are describing below

1st:

Light bounces off an object and into our eye .it's first enter into the cornea where the light is refracted quitly.

2nd stage:

Then light is passes through clear liquid called acqueous humor

Stage-3

it travell through the pupil which is surrounded by coloured part of the eye called Iris which controll the amount of light entering eye.

stage -4

The light now passed through lense where light is more refracted.

step-5

It travels through vitreous humor untill it reaches the retina.

stage 6

photoceptor with in retina (road ) are excited by the light stimuli and generate a nerve spell.

stage 7

The nerve impulses travel down the optic nerve to the area of brain which process sight.

stage 8:

The brain process and interprete the information .it flips the information and superimpose the image from both eyes.

Receptor cell :

Receptor cell mainly carry the signal to eye for vision .Receptor is protin or glycoproteins that received signal which is offen called first massenger.when winning the game of favarioute team , people are excited or fell sorrow and say hmm .This caused due to receptor cell which reaches the signal to the brain .

optics nerves :

Optical nerve is second carnial nerve which carries sensory nerve impulses from the more than one million ganglion cell of retina towards the visual center of brain .The vast majority of optics nerve fibres convey information regarding central vision.
