The gang members should be considered deviant because they indulge in criminal acts , the gang members had been a perperator , victims & witness to violent crimes - including murders ,rapes beating ,shooting , & stabbings , some of them had trafficked drugs , stolen cars or commited arsons or vandalism. The members collectively identify themselves by adopting a group identity, which they use to create an atmosphere of fear or intimidation, frequently by employing one or more members intheir group.: They have common name, slogan, identifying sign, symbol, other physical marking, style or color of clothing, hairstyle, hand sign .
As studied from gang members, their kife style was an intergenerational legacy- grand parents, parents & other family members taught criminal behaviours to the generations that followed, they enjoyed the violence ,which increased their attachement to their life style..
