THIS IS CRIMINAL JUSTICE SUBJECT :

Like many other professional fields, the justice field has been impacted by the development and advancement of technology, but not without challenges. Two challenges justice agencies face regarding acquiring and implementing new technology are:

funding the added technology
getting the practitioners “buy in” to the new technology
Discuss how these two challenges are related, how they differ, and what makes them so challenging to overcome. Which of the two is the more challenging and why? Justify your reasoning.

Explanation / Answer

The world is constantly changing with new technology coming in every time to make life easier for people. These technologies also help people get accurate results than the works of humans. Technology and technological advancements has also started playing a major role in criminal Justice System, in terms of collecting, storing, retrieving and presenting data in the court and outside of it. So, funding becomes more important from the government’s side to make all the courts technologically equipped and train people who work in the Criminal Justice System in using the advanced technologies. In my opinion, making people accept, get trained and utilize the technology is more difficult than the funding. People and their mindset are the problem because most of them are used to a certain way of handling things. When there is a change with technology, they would resist because either they don’t want to learn it due to their age or laziness or that they don’t trust the new gadgets and the technologies that come along. On the other hand, people who are already familiar with the use of these technologies would welcome them and use them.
