Write a one page by answering the following question Most importantly, be sure to use evidence, reason, argument, and/or examples to support your view John is a midlevel manager at Corporation C, a publicly traded Fortune 500 company. As per company policy, the board of directors has adopted a strict code of ethics to be followed by all directors and employees. Recently, John heard that the board of directors had turned a blind eye to illegal maneuvers performed by certain employees, which resulted in a 15% increase in profit for Corporation C in 2015, and a promotion for the employees who engaged in the illegal behavior. John interpreted this to mean that the board of directors condoned this behavior, and that it might even result in a promotion for John if he carried it out successfully himself. Unfortunately, John is caught by federal investigators, who also discover the illegal behavior of the other employees of Corporation C, and the actions of the board of directors in condoning illegal activity. The federal investigators must decide who to charge with a crime: members of the board of directors who condoned and tacitly encouraged illegal behavior, or John and the other employees who actually engaged in the behavior. What should the federal investigators do? (Make reference to the article "Ethics and Business Decision Making,")Explanation / Answer
Federal investigator first try to collect evidences to ascertain the involvement of all the employees and management.
All those who have been found guilty must be punished , from employees to board of directors to John . However , quantum of punishment can be different. Board of director must have the highest responsibility and their turning a blind eye to illegal acts have promoted illegal act and motivated John to indulge in same. So Quantum of punishment should follow this order, highest punishment to board of management, then other employees involved and the least punishment to John as he was motivated by pardoning of illegal act by top management and directors
