Write a one page by answering the following question What are Ethics and refer your answer to Ethic and decision Making Most importantly, be sure to use evidence, reason, argument, and/or examples to support your viewJohn is a midlevel manager at Corporation C, a publicly traded Fortune 500 company. As per company policy, the board of directors has adopted a strict code of ethics to be followed by all directors and employees. Recently, John heard that the board of directors had turned a blind eye to illegal maneuvers performed by certain employees, which resulted in a 15% increase in profit for Corporation C in 2015, and a promotion for the employees who engaged in the illegal behavior. John interpreted this to mean that the board of directors condoned this behavior, and that it might even result in a promotion for John if he carried it out successfully himself. Unfortunately, John is caught by federal investigators, who also discover the illegal behavior of the other employees of Corporation C, and the actions of the board of directors in condoning illegal activity. The federal investigators must decide who to charge with a crime: members of the board of directors who condoned and tacitly encouraged illegal behavior, or John and the other employees who engaged in the behavior. What should the federal investigators do? Explanation / Answer
Ethics: This determines how a person consider's his or her actions in any situations as right or wrong. It can depend on certain cognitive barriers where one person's right might be another person's wrong. It is basically the moral principles that a society demands from an individual or an entity.
Ethical decisions: the following steps in decision making should always be followed
In the case study, John is incorrect in participating in the illegal behaviour himself but the investigators will have to tax/fine the board of directors and take legal action on them as an entire entity as they were upholding their employees wrong behaviour and rewarding them with promotion. John and the other employees actually were influenced by the board of directors to continue doing wrong as they were getting rewarded for the same. The investigators may or may not take legal action on the employees separately as they belong to corporation C, but if the illegal activity harmed the general publicspecificaly then they can separately hold the employees liable in a separate legal suit.
