1) Search online to find out which blogs are currently the most popular. Why do you suppose the leaders are so popular?
2) Why would a corporation, an executive, a news outlet, or a college student want to blog? What are the benefits? What are the concerns?
3) If anyone can edit a wiki, why aren’t more sites concerned about vandalism or by inaccurate or inappropriate content? Are there technical reasons not to be concerned? Are there “social” reasons that can alleviate concern?
4) Do you feel that you can trust content in wikis? Do you feel this content is more or less reliable than content in print encyclopedias; than the content in newspaper articles? Why?

Some of the most successful blogs right now include big names such as TechCrunch, tuts+ and copy blogger. They are popular because of the initial phase that they started. They were developed at a time when there wasn't as big a competition in the market and they catered to a particular area in the market which allowed them to build a considerable fan following and therefore, with the investment being returned ten folds, they were allowed to then market their product(the blog) better and increase their exposure and reach. Which is what resulted in their current popularity and leadership position.
Any of this institution would benefit from the use of a blog which would allow them to create an essential network of like-minded people like their staff, students etc and essentially talk about the things that matter, things that might be controversial and sociopolitical issues. It also allows them to maintain a network, outside connections and generally present relevant information for everybody to see. The challenges could include the costs that are required for the initial start as well as the upkeep of the blog as a platform. Creation of specific databases that are desperate from all the sensitive information of the institution and also the time requirement and division of duties which will be required to keep the blog relevant as well as functional.
Even though anybody can edit a wiki, technically there should be a reason for concern because of any community-driven platform. Can fall victim to the biased nature of the information that can be presented or spread, and, a source like a wiki needs to be especially careful about this. But, there isn't much need for concern as the information needs to have relevance and a credible source. They are properly vetted and checked for credibility and even if any information slips through their care processes, the data can be changed by another person that has knowledge of the presented data. The social reasons that can alleviate concerns are therefore presented by the community of people that help correct the inaccuracies in the data on the wiki.
Yes, I can feel we can trust the content on wiki due to the reason that all the sources are checked and the data can be edited by the community which checks for the inaccuracies in the data. But, it is not as accurate as printed encyclopedia or newspaper reports and content due to the presence of a stricter structure present during the process of editing and verifying sources by the company that published the data.
