My role is to balance the various interests in health information and upholding it's confidentiality ,privacy, security.
CONFIDENTIALITY :refers to the obligation of professional who have access to patients records or communication to hold that information in confidence .This proffesional obligation to keep health information confidential is supported in Professional Association Codes Of Ethics.
Confidentiality is recognized by law as privileged communications between two parties in a professional relationship with a patient ,physician, nurse, or other healthcare professional.
As patients we have come to expect confidential communication.
*Privacy:Is the right of the individual clients or patient to be let alone and to make decisions about how personal information is shared.
Individuals are provided with the right to access their own health information in most cases and the right to request amendment of inaccurate health information .
*Security :to protect the privacy of health information and support professional in holding that information in confidence.
