Origin : anterior surface of the sacrum , the ilium near posterior inferior iliac spine
Insertion : superior border of greater trochanter of femur
Nerve supply ( innervation ): nerve to Piriformis S1 and S2
Blood supply : superior and inferior gluteal and pudendal arteries.
Action : lateral rotator of hip joint and also helps in hip abduction
