There are many techniques to seperate the components of the mixture such as : distillation , filtration , evaporation and crystallisation , decantation , magnetic seperation and chromatography.
Since oil and vinegar are immiscible in each other , the best method to seperate them from each other is decantation.
The mixture is put into the decantation funnel , making sure the bottom tap is off. Then the mixture is left undisturbed for sometime so that they can seperate into layers. Now a beaker is put below the funnel and tap is gently opened.
When the denser liquid has been drained out in the beaker , the tap is closed and the lighter immiscible fluid is allowed to stay in funnel.
This can then be poured out of the funnel into a seperate beaker.
