Question

While studying public health issues in the MPH program, you have learned about the process known as evaluation. The evaluation process is a tool to measure our successes and failures; thus, it pertains to everything done in public health. Evaluation demonstrates what we have done and what the results are. Using the module readings, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, research the grants evaluation process. Based on your research, respond to the following: Explain when the evaluation process begins and what it should entail in detail. Support your answer with examples.

Explanation / Answer

Ans. The evaluation process commence with the step of engaging the stake holders such as involving partnerships where the assessment of public health workers would consider the value system of the partners. If the stake holders in evaluation process are not engaged then the evaluation might not address the critical elements such as the program objective, operations and outcome. Identifying three critical groups of stakeholders are critical which are:

1) Those involved in operations program.

2) Those affected by the program.

3) Primary users of the evaluation.

After engaging it is followed by describing the program and then focussing the evaluation design in such a way that it produces the desired results.

Gathering the necessary evidences is another mark for setting up evaluation.

It is followed by justifying the conclusions and considering the results.

The standards which must be considered for evaluation process are utility, feasibility, accuracy ad proprietary.
