These women in India suffer from bone pain, fractures, muscle weakness and depression because of less calcium levels in their body and the calcium levels are low because of less levels of Vitamin D they have. Since these women cover their entire body with clothes hence they are not exposing their body to sufficient sunlight. As we know sunlight is the source of vitamin D. The less exposure of body to sunlight leads to less Vitamin D in body. When Vitamin D is less in body then there will be less calcium absorption in bone due to which there will be bone pain, fractures, muscle weakness and depression.
