Factors affecting obesity:
1 Age: as age advances, metabolism rate decreases and fat metaboliam is affected. If physical activity is less, deposotion of fat and hypercholesterolemia and leading to obesity.
2. Sex: Central obesity is more in males as compared to females. Fat deposition occurs in abdominal wall in males. Cemtral obesity is a major risk factor for coronary heart disease. In females, obesity is more common after child birth. Fat deposition is more around thighs and hips.
3. Pregnancy: For females, it is a major risk factor as pregnancy is a necessary physiological phenomenon. This is because of hormonal changes, sedentry life, dietary intake.
4. Sedentary life style: Now a days, because of change in job profile mostly people are doing sedentary job which is a mojor risk factor for obesity. Apart from it, lack of physical exercise, late sleep and late arise areare a contributing factors.
5. Dietary pattern: as people have less time for themselves, their dietary habits are changing. Consumption of quick food called as fast foods are on rise. Food containing high amount of fat, carbohydrates amd preservatives are major risk factors.
6. Diseases or Disorders: Metabolic syndromes, hypercholesterolemia, hypothyroidism, Diabetes affect body metabolism and leading to increase in fat cells in body.
7. Genetic/ Heriditary: When obesity is a familial disease, it runs in family. Body composition, metabolism and dietary patterns are from common pool, remains a major concern.
