Skin Cancer.   A patient has been seen for several skin lesions. Some are diagnosed as being benign. One is suspicious in nature, and the patient is referred to a dermatologist for further assessment and treatment. You are instructed to provide the patient with printed information concerning skin lesions and to encourage the use of sunscreen. How do you handle this patient-teaching opportunity? Make sure to discuss what to look for in lesions, how to protect yourself from burns, include a brief description of basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma. Consider why melanoma receives the most attention yet it is not the most common skin cancer.

Now a days skin related problems are very usual. As skin related to beauty, it is also very important to treat as like common carcinoma. Squamous cell carcinoma is also called epidermoid carcinoma are a number of different types of cancer that result from squamous cell.These cells form the surface of the skin lining of hollow organs in the body and line the respiratory and digestive tract.

Basal cell carcinoma is also known as basal cell cancer, is the most common type of skin cancer. It often appears as a painless raised area of skin, which may be shiny with small blood vessels running over it; or it may be present as a raised area with ulceration. Basal cell cancer grow slowly and spread to distant areas and it can damage the tissue around it or result in death.

Melanoma is also known as malignant melanoma, is a type of cancer develops from the pigment containing cells called melanocytes. Melanomas typically occur in skin, but rarely occur in mouth, intestine or eye. Sometimes from a mole with concerning changes including irregular edges, size color itchiness or skin breakdown.

As disclosed above there are several types of skin cancer which cause damage to the skin. It may cause due to multiple reason, but one of the main reason beyond it is due to sun burn. It occurs due to exposing the skin to highly intensed sun rays contain UV rays which can damage the skin and cause melanoma. It is necessary to apply doctor advised sunscreen, because the sunscreen contain several active ingredients and protect it from strong skin damaging rays.

It is also good to protect our skin from sunburn. Don't expose your skin to strong rays during afternoon. Cover your skin instead of exposing which cause skin damage. Apply doctor advised sunscreens regularly while you go out. If any hard damage occurs it is better to contact dermatologist.

Now a days melanoma receives more attention because mainly it causes due to strong rays. As the ozone layer is depleting day by day due to pollution, the strong sun rays enter directly to the earth with less filter and damage the skin.
