Question
Psychopharmacology has demonstrated that balance within the nervous system is maintained by opposing force. One viewpoint is that these opposing forces make the nervous system resilient because each change in a force is matched by an opposing force. It has also been argued that the oppositional design makes the operation of the nervous system delicate because slight changes can tip the balance between the opposing forces. Identify a characteristic that you believe demonstrates whether the opposing forces within our nervous system make it resilient or delicate to changes. Explain why you believe this characteristic meets the provided criteria.
Explanation / Answer
Dominance of brain hemispheres is still the topic under study . But one thing is crystal clear regarding this topic which is that we can't assume that our right brain is dominant just because we do things like solving puzzles and all. But before discussing this topic let me tell you one thing that balancing our body doesn't mean a balance in our day to day life. Some says that Yoga can balance both at same time but this discipline is still under research, so many scientist doesn't believe this.
Before giving my opinion on the characteristic i would like ro ask a question that how well do we know our right from lwft and left from our right? The knowledge about our two forces is zero. How do they operate in the same system without opposing them is only justified by theories and hypothesis.
According to me the characteristic you are looking for is Instinct( the ability to empty our mind of our thoughts and let our brain alone decide about what do with our body). Just by going thoughtless I can feel my environment to the fullest.
The science of brain hemispheres as it relates to motor activity would indicate that learning how to use our right and left sides in a balanced way harmonizes both our body and our brain.
The balance between the opposing forces within our nervous system do exist we just need to discover it.
Hopefully answered your question, please do review.
