Explanation / Answer
Subject: Good note taking strategy.
Hello Prasad,
This is an email describing about good study habits, strategies, how to ake good use of internet. Since you had asked my over a call, I thought that instead of telling you writing an email would be more useful because it remains documented.
Today we can get a lot of information from wiki, and many such websites. Sometimes you really cannot read everything. So it is better to just to read information in key words i.e. to read just 2-3 words in a sentence. Once you have fair idea, just jot down the points. Remember not to take down sentences, you have to understand make a flow chart and jot down the points. You can elaborate it later. Usually the paid websites such as study.com provides correct information.
Once you have taken down your notes, you have to sit and go through it and write your own thoughts against it. This helps in critical thinking, the more you think the better you can understand the topic. This also helps in avoiding plagiarism. You have to express your own views against it instead of merely copying the internet sentences. This gives you the real; essence of studying.
I think all above things should clarify you thoughts about studying from internet and taking down notes. Do not hesitate to ask more if required.
Best Regards,
Sanika
