Define how reverse logistics can benefit a company.
Reverse logistics is the process in which, the customer returns the product. It can either be for return, repurchase, repair or recycle. No company wants to be associated with returning the things that are once purchased but, a good company treats reverse logistics as a method of improving customer service and also as a distinguishing factor from the competitors. Reverse logistics can prove beneficial for a company as it allows the customer to feel valued. Even after the sale has been complete, the company is taking care of the customer and is ready to accept the product if it is not functioning properly.
Reverse logistics also allows the manufacturer to assemble the merchandise that has been with the traders. Once the products reach the manufacturer, it can be reassembled or recycled in accordance with their current conditions, instead of going wasted. Reverse logistics also ensures that the lifespan of the product increases. The products will be accepted by the manufacturer at any stage and will be recycled or repaired according to the condition. Reverse logistics enhances the belief of the customers on the company. The returned goods also add value to the firm as the supply chain the firms can use the supply chain already in place to add value to the firm.
