Question
Design a circuit that counts the number of '1's on X and compares the count, C, to Y. Signal X, is bit-sequence and signal Y, is an 8-bit unsigned integer. Both signals are stable on the positive edge of the clock. Both X and Y should be sampled in the positive edge of the clock. When the count, C > Y, the output Z, produces a single pulse. C is reset and the pulse begins on the positive edge following the sample. (see waveform below) The pulse duration is equal to the value of Y (in clock-cycles) The inputs, X and Y, are not sampled while the output pulse is active. Draw an ASM chart for this circuit. Design a datapath. List all control signals and List all status signals.Explanation / Answer
a)ASM means amplitude shift modulation.
it is the modulation technique using the amplitude of the signal
In this the carrier signal is modutaled with the data signal, the phase and frequency of signal remains same for carrier signal but its amplitude varies according to the amplitute of data signal.
b)data path is the way from where the data will receive from sender to receiver..it is not neccessary that the path must be short.itcan travel any path.
