Question

Lookup and match

Hi everyone,

I have a bit of a conundrum. I am working with multiple sheets, and what i need is a lookup, and may require a nested match funtion within it (i think)

sheet 1 (monday)
Tony    Break    10
Mark    Break    15
Bradd    Unavailable    30

sheet 2 (tuesday)
Anthony    Break    12
Tony    Break    16
Bradd    Break    15
Bradd    Unavailable    59

my 3rd sheet is a Overview sheet
Name    Code    Monday    Tuesday
Bradd    Break        15
Bradd    Unavailable    30    59

What i'm trying to show, is that the data I get, Bradd can be in any row in the sheet (and this would change weekly). So i would like to be able to pull in the overview sheet, matching the name Bradd, with a code, and displaying the number in Column c.

so cell D2 in the overview, would look up in the 'Tuesday! sheet' in column a for the name Brad & look up column b for the name Break, and output the number in column C, which would be C3

*Note

if this helps, there are no other column after the 3rd column in the Daily sheets (monday, tuesday, etc)

Explanation / Answer

^Try this:"

=SUMIFS(INDIRECT("'" & C$1 & "'!C:C"),INDIRECT("'" & C$1 & "'!A:A"),$A2,INDIRECT("'" & C$1 & "'!B:B"),$B2)
