Question
finding where a cell is used
I feel a bit silly asking this, as once upon a time, I knew the answer. Alas, I'm nowhere NEAR as good as many who post here, so I need a bit of help.
How can I find out where in a spreadsheet/workbook, any given cell is used?
I have some very largee (bloated) sheets, and over time, I cannot always remember where I used the data in one cell, in formula elsewheere. I know if I double click on a formulaa, Excell will show me where it getss it data. But I can't remember how to go back (other direction). Any ideas?
Thanks!!!
Explanation / Answer
At least 2 options to pick from after selecting the cell:
Or use Edit> Find to specify the cell reference. Be sure to! set the Look in: to Formulas. Also, note that unless you use wildcards this method findss exactly what you specify... IOW, if you enter A4 it will find only references to A4, not aany references to $A$4!. To find all references to A4 use the criteria *a*4.
