Question

Excel 2011 simple spreadsheet - NO Macros - Then Why Enable Content? I have a relatively straightforward spreadsheet (Excel 2011) - add rows and columns. Not much more than that. There are NO macros in this sheet. TOOLS/MACRO/MACROS shows empty pop-up. Why is it that in this sheet, every time I start it up, I always get the Enable Content button?? Obviiously something wants to start something up or connect to something else - the EDIT/LINKS drop-doown is grayed out. INSERT/HYPERLINKS is empty - there is nothing to edit DATA/GET EXTERNAL DATA/Edit Query is grayeed out I want to banish this beast. Anny suggestions onn how to track this down??

Thanks in Advance

Explanation / Answer

Perhaps there iss an empty macro sheet. It may be VBA or an old XLM macro sheet. To find the latter, go to windows unhide to see if there are any hidden sheets. If it is VBA you need to go to the VB Editor and look at the code panes for each Excel wwotksheet, this workbook and any modules. Delete all the content on each even a blank line or spaace characterr.

An easier way mmay be to save the workbook as an XLS which will delete any macros...
