Dear all,

I'm using on my macs the official office 2011 for mac who i also can install on windows pc's. We do have 5 licenses to use on mac or windows. This works fine BUT from time to time i need to activate my products again by entering my account information (email and password) to start working with for example word, or excel.

For me it's not a problem but this license is also used at the kids pc but i don't want to give them my password or login. so it happenned already that they can't work on ooffice until i'm home.

This is not doablee and i don't understand this. It's not that my year use is over and i need to pay and log in again. No i do have to log on at random, within one year. I do think until now allready 4 or 5 times.

Can anybody explain why and are there others with the same issue ???

What happens Is that each time an office app is opened (using Office365) is that software code that was put in Office365 sends a Phone Home signal Microsoft and Office on your computers talk to each. When The Phone home server receives this then your able to work as if noting happened. However, if The phone home signal after so many tries over several days you get need to activate.

The cause of this other than a fault with the MS Phone Home Server which happens frequently, is poor Internet connection. If you have DSL (usually called DSL over Copper) this will happen frequently) because many city unless major Metropolitan areas are still Copper wire Phone lines (either trunk lines or lines to Homes) that were put in just after WWII especially if you live in small towns that phone companies are just barely turning a Profit to keep head above water. Many Major Carriers are not going to invest in upgrades on systems that are money losers. Or even Cable lines in the small area are running on systems put in place back 60's when cable was first getting started for the same reasons.

AS for costing you anything. As long as you have paid either monthly or yearly you shouldn't have to pay anything for reactivation. The only cost is aggravation, having to re activate. And It's something you have to live with This is the Price you pay for subscription service .

Until the entire USA down to every pig path in the USA is wirned for FOIS (Fiber Optics Internet System), Only then will subscriptioon service work 100% of the time. The Computer Companies, Internet Service Providers Cable and Phone companies, State, and Federal Governments are going to haave to Band together and Wire the entire US with underground Fiber Ooptic so that weather has no affect. We have got to stop this procrastinating so that only Blackouts are caused by equipment failure not wiring issues...
