Question

Excel 2013 - Basic Number Sequence impossible

Hello,..

I have a series of data with account numbers, email addresses and an account owner in columnns A, B & C.

I have several tabs with different data pots that I'm trying to split into 2 numbered groups each (i.e. first tab is 1 & 2, 2nd tab is 3 & 4 and so on)

What I've been trying to do is, in column D (starting at D2) I put 1, then the next row is 2, all I want to do at this point is copy down 1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2....etc then move onto the the next tab and so on.

However, when I try this I select d2 & d3 and copy down inputs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc

So I tried 1, 2, 1, 2 in cells d1, d2, d3 & d4, highlight all of them and copy down, which gives me 1,2,1,2,2,2.2,2.4,2.6,2.8,3,3.2,3.4,3.6,3.8 etc

This function worked in all previous versions of Excel I have used but this is starting to drive me nuts.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks !

Hi..

Hi,

Fill the first 2 numbers in a column (1 & 2). Select these 2 ceells and note the little black box on the bottom right corner of the selection. Right click this box and hold down the right mouse button and drag as far as you want. When you release the mouse button in the popup menu click 'Copy Cells'...
