Question
Identify which adapter(s) would receive a data-link layer broadcast transmitted by Computer A (if any), and which would not (if any). Provide an explanation of why each adapter present in the preceding figure would or would not receive the broadcast.
Configuration of Two Adjacent Networks Network Adapter A MAC:0B-F7-87-E8-66-17 Network Adapter R1 Network Adapter R2 Network Adapter B MAC: 55-B0-50-48-E2-Cs MAC: F9-24-47-C2-C3-C3 IPv4: 51.158.11.12/25 MAC: 4C-40-23-18-2A-89 P4: 80.118.34.138/24IPv4: 80.118.34.12/24 IPv4: 51.158.11.96/25 Computer A Router ComputerB Network A NetworkBExplanation / Answer
Here we can see that computer A and Computer B are configured on adjacent network, If compter A transmits a datalink layer broadcast, then It directly goes to the receiver i.e., Computer B, because we dont have 2 routers to transmit the data from router to router, here we have adjacent network configured with network adapters, so If a router has network adapter configured on the same network as the receiver, the router sends it to the receiver directly.
For suppose if we have two routers then the first router receives the IPv4 packet, and routes it to another router. The router then forwards the packet to the receiver addressing the receiver directly at the datalink layer.
