Description: In this activity, you look at the tools available for viewing NetBIOS services and shares. After using the Nbtstat command to discover a computer or server on a network that's sharing a resource, you can use the Net view and Net use commands to see whether any computers are sharing resources and possibly access those resources from your Windows computer.

1. Start your computer in Windows.

2. Right-click Start and click Explore. In the Start Menu window, click Local Disk (C:) and then click File on the menu bar, point to New, and click Folder. Name the new folder YourFirstName, and then click Enter.

3. Right-click the folder you just created and click Sharing and Security. In the Properties dialog box, click to enable the Share this folder on the network check box, and accept the share name by clicking OK.

4. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and click Command Prompt. In the command prompt window, type ipconfig and press Enter. Write down your IP address and tell it to your partner.
