Explanation / Answer
According to act of Utilitarianism, focuses on the effect of an individual action.
Hence, when an individual insults people based on the religion, race or sexual orientation it may hurt their feelings.
However, as stated act of Utilitarianism, focuses on effect of actions not effect on type of actions.
It really depends on how an individual interprets these speeches. Some maybe hurt and some can just ignore it.
It is not wrong to expel someone from hate speech. However, the admin as to keep in mind the audience to which the speech is being delivered. It the audience is not so much hurt by the speech then the admin should not remove the member from the group.
If the admin has evidence that due to the act of a hate speech some or all the members of the groups are hurt then the admin can warn the individual. After warning if the individual stops delivering hate speeches then it is ok, Or else the admin should expel him/her from the group.
The admin should think with respect to the group members by putting himself in the shoes of the audience, and not personally thinking that a speech it hateful or not.
It is the job of the admin to monitor the group and sometimes perform actions to keep the group calm and active. In case of delivery of a hate speech also. The admin should not always remove members from the group as the first action. If the hate delivery person hurts any person the admin should have a one on one talk with the person and make him/her understand that the act is not correct and it should be stopped.
Removing a group member should be the last option of the admin.
So in short, the admin’s action is not wrong to remove a member for hate speech. But yes this should be avoided.
I have solved your question. Please do not forget to give a positive like to the answer. Thank you.
