I did not really understand so I contacted the instructor and got the following response:
The idea here is to develop a system that could help a part of a business or organization run more efficiently. For example, think of something that may be currently done manually that could be automated. A good example might be a system for tracking something--like a database with a simple Web interface or something like that. For example, one student created a system for registering members in a health club and tracking their progress.

Explanation / Answer

Dear user, Any application that is maintaining records manually can be considered. Some of the areas that can be chosen are: (1) In an educational organization, one can maintain the records of a student containing information like admissions, fee details, class, marks etc. All the manually maintained data and files can be maintained in a system through a database. (2) Similarly in a business application or in an organization, the employee details can be maintained. (3) Conducting online examinations – for admissions, internals etc • The project proposal must give a brief description of the project, summary etc. It should include various aspects like the title, problem definition, objectives, work plan, time schedule, budget etc. • In feasibility study, the project plan, structure, risks, benefits etc are identified. • Through data flow diagram, the flow of data in the system, the way the system operates are represented. • Screen designs represent the final look and appearance of the system developed. It must give the outer view of your project. • Testing plan includes various test cases that you use to test the project and the way you design the test cases etc. • Implementation plan represents the process of implementing the project, deploying etc. So, based on the project chosen, the various levels of representing the project can be done accordingly.
