Explanation / Answer

• Melissa is a type of macro virus. It is contained in a document with a macro
• It attacked Microsoft's Outlook and Word programs. It is spread through an email by mailing itself to the first fifty mail addresses. Melissa infected machines when users opened the attachment in the mail. More than a million users were affected.
• It was restricted by using macintosh operating systems. Melissa virus can not automatically transmit itself by e-mail from a computer that uses the Macintosh operating system.
• These worms can be prevented by using anti viruses. Sphos anti virus is one measure an which most of the countries and millions of people rely on to protect agains such vorms and viruses.
