He has asked you to research what wireless network options will fit their needs but is again concerned about cost.consider the following needs in your recommendation.

• The network must be secure against unauthorized wireless access, but allow authorized visitors to join with minimal configuration
• The network should use widely available industry-standard technology

A. Depending on the size of the patio, 802.11a may be the most cost efficient. 802.11A uses the less common 5GHz frequency range, which gives increased speeds over it's 802.11b sister protocol. This comes at a cost of maximum theoretical distance, but since they employees are planning on doing their work on the patio (which is assumed to be a small, open area) this shouldn't be a problem. B. Wireless networks are more prone to traffic problems since they use a Collision Avoidance mechanism rather than Collision Detection. Two small office wireless routers should provide the throughput necessary for 20 individuals to do their work. C. Security could be provided using the WPA-Enterprise encryption scheme, which uses a RADIUS server to maintain credentials for individual users in the company. This would provide ownership of network traffic, and encryption to prevent the neighbors from getting any potentially sensitive information.
