Question
In the book Data and Computer Communications by William Stallings, I did not understand Cramster's solution to Ch 6 problem 5. Can the solution be explained in a different way. This is the problem: An asynchronous transmission scheme uses 8 data bits, an even parity bit, and a stop element of 2 bits. What percentage of clock inaccuracy can be tolerated at the receiver with respect to the framing error? Assume that the bit samples are taken at the middle of the clock period. Also assume that at the beginning of the start bit the clock and bits are in phase.Explanation / Answer
The transmission error should be such that the reciever doesn't sample for it in the other's frame time!! Hope it helps
