Jack and Jill work in the purchasing department and do not get along well, which affects the entire department. Other employees in the department are upset by the bickering and have been complaining amongst themselves and to management. Both Jack and Jill are responsible for parts of work that need to be completed before their colleagues can finish their portions of the work.
Using the SPC Library or the Internet, locate information related to coworker conflicts at the workplace. Assume you are the department manager and respond to the following issues.
Identify the problem in a succinct statement. State at least one objective that is relevant to this problem.
Identify and thoroughly discuss at least two alternatives and the consequences of each.
Explain how will you resolve this problem.
Provide suggestions to prevent a similar situation from occurring in the future.
Present your findings in a 3 to 5 page paper using APA format and at least two (2) scholarly sources.

Leadership and conflicts are the two faces of a coin which are inseparable in nature, where a true leadership falls conflicts are very likely to arise. Conflicts in workplace are very common issue, but how to manage and tackle these issue is the main objective of managers and leaders these days.
In the case above the co-workers jack and Jill are facing conflicts from each other which is becoming the hindrance among other workers, because work of others are dependent on the objectives being completed by Jack and Jill.
To handle the disagreement between the co-workers recognizing their ideas, voicing one’s idea, and being OK with and supporting what transpires, to find a common ground in for the conflicts are resolved is must, finding a common solution which will benefit all in every case is must.
Handling the consequences sooner or later will give the organization a first hand in solving the conflicts among the co-workers. Having a meaningful conversation with the employees time to time and trying to understand the issues and problems that they are facing in the organization with others will help to recognize the conflicts among co-workers at an early stage in which it can be easily resolved.
Understanding the emotions of co-workers is very important for the managers and leaders, a huge mistake which often leads to conflicts among workers is letting the emotion taking decisions rather than taking rational decision based on real communication.
Defining the acceptable behaviour is yet another very important task, employees tends to assume something’s which are general, but creating a framework for decision making, using a published statement, giving encouragement to sound business practises, team building, leadership and development training programmes will help the organization in avoiding and managing the conflicts among co-workers.
