Consider an area of expertise you have developed within the past 4 years. Using phases of knowledge conversion process as guide, review how you developed your knowledge and capabilities in this area?
Explanation / Answer
I have developed an area of expertise in Project management within the past 4 years. The project consultancy team and subject matter experts were hired by our company for plant expansion project. The project team was well versed in different fields and were expert and well experienced in installation and commissioning of plant machinery (Externalization). These were hired to inculcate the best engineering practices and procedures during the project work and enhance capacity building and skills (Combination). The hired project consultancy team injected the engineering knowledge and application of technical standards and norms in civil , mechanical ,electrical streams .All employees including me were aligned with company’s vision and goal and thus contributed by developing cross functional teams with areas of strength ,documentation of the engineering standards and methodology was done with zeal (Internalization). By taking the decision to hire external project management consultancy , the best practices and standard processes to complete projects in future was infused by the company (Socialization) from I was also able to develop my knowledge and capabilities.
