In terms of the pod cast, it seems you determined it to be geared more toward their business marketing model, rather than a standard business marketing model. I think it represents a standard business marketing model with great tips. I'm not sure I agree with your responds to the internet being misrepresentation of trust. And by all means, trust has to be earned.

Moral Principles that drive an Individual or an organization’s behavior on the activity that is being conducted is generally referred as Ethics. Any initiatives that affect the quantitative and qualitative values of an organization viz., Trust, Performance, Collaboration and Innovation etc., are referred to as fundamental Business Ethics.

Trust is definitely time taking when it comes to business and customers. But now trusting closed ones has also become difficult. With the changing environment, mindsets of people are also changing and misuse of trust has become a common word being used. So in this environment, it is correct that firms need to earn the trust of their customers. Trust is cultural as people built their mindsets based on this culture. Trusting anyone has become a dangerous task nowadays and people have to be very careful; while doing so.
