I believe the biggest threat to a PC is an under informed user that likes to visit unsecure, downloading and go to peer-2-peer websites for crack software. Why i say this? In most cases a PC connecting to the internet is not really at risk without an Anti-Viruses. Connection to the internet has no actions but users are the ones executing some action on the internet that lead to viruse effect or worst data theft. A hacker doesn't know a PC is connected to the internet if the user doesn't visit a site, checking email or downloading. So the user should be informed of the risks and vulnerability that are out there and the more informed users are the less problems they will have surfing the Net.

A pc is generally infetcted by virus by one's activities. it may happen unknowingly. virus cant affect the pc unless we visit unsecure sites or softwares.
