Hi, I am brand new to programming and I am thrown into this python class that never teaches the basics, I have a python program I am trying to write but am making no headway seeing as I don't really know what to do here. This is the shell I have to use to create a student grading program

This is what I did with it so far trying to utilize my notes. So far nothing is really happening as it runs because I can choose the menu option and it just repeats the menu and to enter a number. I'm not looking for a completed hw assignment, I just want some help knowing where I should take it and what to do. As the menu says, I need to be able to open a file, create a file, find a studen'ts score (based on their file I assume), and and new score then finally display the data. My main problem is needing to use pickling and I have no idea what I am doing.
