Ans 1 The team is an entity where members meet frequently do discuss, brainstorm, ideate and solve the problems faced by them. Everyone participates and puts forth his / her opinion to find the ways of reaching the goal and enjoy empowerment from the leader who is more of a fecilitator that helps to achieve the best of each team member. The group is a collection of people who come together to accomplish certain tasks as assigned by the supervisor. In a group, each member is responsible for his / her task only unlike the team where everyone is equally accountable for the outcome of activity.

Ans 2: Biggest challenge in virtual communication is the reliance on technology for communicating among the team members located and spreead across the globe. Poor connectivity or technical glitches may result improper or incomplete dialogue, that sometimes may leave a communication gap. This is true for communication between members working in field or at far and wide locations having poor or no connectivity, This may be improved by investing in sophisticated technology enabled tools of communication training of staff in virtual communication,

Ans 3 A cross functional team comprises of members from different functional domains that come together to accomplish a task that involves contribution through expertise from each member.

Ans 4: Teams fail beacuse of several reasons. Main reasons are lack of communication between levels, lack of leadership, lack of support from top management, improper planning and poor execution, improper and incorrect assessment of risks and its poor management, absence of conflict resolution, presence of vested interests etc.

Ans 5: Intrinsic awards are intangible awards like personal achievement, professional growth and accomplishment, whereas extrinsic awards are tangible like certificate of appreciation by the management.

Ans 6: It is always appropriate and desirable to ask the seasoned professionals to mentor the younsters. It will help the beginners to learn from the expertise and experience of the mentors and apply those skills in reeal life situations to become successful professionals.
