For operating system we can use Ubuntu, A varient of Linux. This system can be installed by downlaoding the bootable files from the Ubuntu website. This will be stored in pen drive and which will be made bootable. This bootable pendrive will be used by my helping faculty member to install the operating system in all systems.
Ubuntu is chosen because its open source, no cost or licence fees. Easy to install other softwares. Also its very popular and already a lot of faculty members and students would know how to work on it. It comes with free upgrades and no need to pay for those upgrades. Its also very fast and reliable in comparison to other operating systems. It is also compatible with new technologies like cloud services, IOT etc. It will also not require help from any external vendor as there are plenty of tutorials regarding how to install and use this operating system.
We can use MongoDb or NoSQL for our database purposes. Its freely available online and we can download Ubuntu compatible version and install it. It should be used because it has a lot of demand in job scenarios which will be helpful for students. Its constantly updated and doesn't have any paid versions containing additional functionalities like MySQL. Its easy to use, scalable and also compatible with latest technologies like Big data.
