ANSWER:
What is text ming?
A process of extracting knowledge from unstructured datas. It is usually refered to as semi-automated process.
Text mining Process:
1. Establish the corpus:
Steps of establishing the corpus:
i) Collect all the irrelevant unstructured data (e.g. e-mails,web pages,short notes,etc).
ii) Digitize and standardize the collected datas.
iii) Place the collection in a common place (e.g. in a directory as separate files).
2. Create the Term–by–Document Matrix.
i) All the terms to be included or not? is decided (e.g. include certain words or stop using certain words, synonyms, antonyms, etc).
ii) Find out which is the best representation of indices (row count, column count, logs, binaries).
iii) As it is a sparse matrix. We need to reduce the dimensions by eliminating certain elements (e.g. eliminate the terms with the least or very few occurences). Then transform it to Singular Value Decomposition( SVD).
3. Extract patterns/knowledge.
i) Categorize the text.
ii) Grouping of text.
iii) Association.
iv) Analyze the trends of the knowledge received after extracting.
