6.
Voters get information from the media in different forms such newspapers, tabloids, news channels and internet medium as well as the press releases issued by the regulatory agencies. In the country of USA, these media sources are independent and make the American voters to be informed voters. It helps these voters to take right decision. Though, voters are also swayed by the behavioral characteristics where sentiments and emotions rather rational thinking, play an important role in decision making. Hence, the American system and independence of the media make people to be informed, but some people take decisions on the basis of motions.
For example, in the presidential election, open forum discussion between the presidential candidates take place. These candidates come up with their policies, planning and stand upon local as well as global problems and answer the probing questions. These discussions influence the mindset of voter and voters for their preference on the basis of merit of the stands and policies endorsed by these candidates. Finally, these voters cast their votes and choose the right candidates.
Besides, the timely leakage of scandalous information can also sway the mood of voters even if all the policies are rightly acknowledged by the voters. We can take a case of leakage of emails from the private server of Hillary Clinton. By that time, she was leading in the presidential election, but the announcement of the inquiry w.r.t. the leakage of mails, against the Hillary Clinton, swayed the mood of voters against her.
