Question
The task interdependence is defined as the method in which the tasks are depending each other in an organization.
a.) The long linked sequential dependence is where the preceding task should be completed before the successor task. The accounting firm will be following all the standards and audits. The standards or audits can be processed in a sequential manner only. Hence a large accounting firm will have long linked sequential interdependence.
b.) In mediating pooled task interdependence, the tasks are pooled together to make the final product. For example, assembling the parts in the machine shop or the franchise fast food restaurant like McDonald’s, KFC, etc. The fast-food restaurant will have pooled task interdependence.
c.) The Intensive technology like biotechnology will have reciprocal task interdependence as there are high specialization tasks involved in this organization. The feedback is received after every task in the form of reports and the next task will be decided based on the reports received. Hence the biotechnology company will have reciprocal task interdependence.
