Question
As the question suggests of finding the maximum output of the plant. Let us assume the following data for our consideration:
1. Types of equipment as a whole,
2. Equipment speed - processing speed
3. No of shifts per day
4. No of working days.
5. The workforce will remain same - Assuming the same work for can work extra time.
6. No waiting time is involved i.e. Bottling gets done with zero waiting time at any part of the plant.
current output is = No.of shifts* No.of days* Processing speed
If we consider there are 2 shifts and 25 working days in a month and processing speed as x. Then the current output = 2*25*x. That is 50x
Maximum output is working 3 shifts in a month and 30.25 days a month and with the same processing speed.
Maximum output = 3*30.25*X . That is 90.75x
So there is a scope for improvement of 50% increase in the output. Following the taken assumptions.
The calculations will change. if there is waiting time, lead time at different levels of the process.
