Question
Suppose you were interested in parallelizing the computation of various health-based anomalies presented in a hospital setting. Patients tend to present with acute symptoms, side-effects, or chronic concerns. Your dataset does not identify these exactly, but rather uses the word "acute," "chronic", or "side-effect" in the "patient visit details" field of the electronic health record. Describe, including a schema of your dictionary (i.e., the keys you would create), a map-reduce strategy for categorizing and aggregating this data into a summary report.
Explanation / Answer
So say we have a sample data set like this:-
And for every mapping identified in the table above we can have an Id mapping as well:-
My Strategy to reduce will be first identify single diseases (Acute, Chronic, Side effects, etc) and later if patient has multiple diseases simply concat the Sympton_Code/Id with _ (underscore) separating two sympton code to make it easier to read.
Please let me know in case of any clarifications required. Thanks!
