Brainstorming sessions are conducted to bring out ideas, thoughts and views of all key stakeholders in the company, Brainstorming occurs when a new idea or plan is initiated.This is the very first state of further thinking about the ideas for the organizaion or for individual. In a group through brainstorming people analyse the idea and link the ideas in various sphere of the organization. Formal brainstorming means that the process of brainstorming happnes with in a formal group setting. Everything is recorded for official purpose in formal brainstorming.Suppose in healthcare,an organization is thinking about increasing the capacity of the hospital by increasing bed.In formal braistorming the strategic group can discuss about the ideas in a formal way. Informal brainstorming is when more than two members of the group further discuss about the idea informally.It doesnot recorded for official purpose.In the previous example if two of the key members meet over drinks or tea and further discuss about the idea it will be regarded as informal brainstorming.
