Explanation / Answer

These are the rating basis certain inspection by the Medicare. This does not involve any patient or customer input to all rating category.

So this does not reflect the accurate rating as far as customer satisfaction is considered. They should factor in patient / customer feedback into the weighted rating to each category of the rating.

But yes, if I have to take my loved one to skilled nursing home I will certainly have look at it, as it does provide preliminary information and creates perception about skilled nursing home. But I will not blindly consider the nursing home as I will try to take first hand opinion. These information is certainly beneficial as it compares nursing home based on distance and quality measure. Overall rating certainly does not convey the factor this is based on.

Nursing home will have sense of competition among theselves and will analyze in which catagory they are lagging compare to the best one in the area. Contacting Medicare for improvement in rating and will put step forward in overall imprrovement.

So there is certainly improvement necessary into the ratings and this is good step towards providing important information to the patients.
