Hiring in general term means finding the right candidate for the right job.

Three primary activities are as below:

1. Hiring Need : First activity is to understand clearly on the below like

- what is the hiring need from the Managers

- then a clear descriptions on the role to be hired

- any particular skills or qualities to look for etc.

2. Sourcing: Second activity is to source the required profile through

- In-house databases

- through Consultancies

- through referal programs

- through directly sourcing job portals.

3. Interviewing and selecting : Once eligible candidates are sourced, next step is to interview them through few rounds like

- Written test

- technical interview rounds

- HR interview

It can be through telecommunications or face to face and then finally select the candidate.

2 How do federal employment regulations constrain the hiring process? What are examples?

The federal employment regulations has policies as below which hinders the hiring process:

1. Hiring process: The hiring process under federal employment itself is quite tedious

Examples :

- Getting a federal employment number for each employee to be hired

- Registering for Tax formalities

- Checking on Insurance coverages etc.

2. Question: there are few questions which are restricted to be asked to the applicant according to the federal employment policy. But for some jobs these questions has to be asked.

Example:

1. Age : Few jobs are allocated and can be carried out only by certain age group but asking this questions is restricted.

2. Citizenship: In Order to hire for positions across globe this question is a must but prohibited.

3. Anti discrimination laws: The hiring companies has to strictly follow these laws which are sometimes constraint to hiring te right candidates.
